In an unusual visit for the leader, Kim Jong-un’s half-brother and daughter attended the funeral of his father, who died in November 2011.

They were accompanied by his wife and son-in-law, North Korean state media reported, and Kim gave them a gift basket containing his father’s personal items.

North Korea is famous for its elaborate and elaborate funerals, which often involve lavish display of his personal items and the deaths of relatives.

The U.N. Human Rights Council has said the North Korean regime is using the funerals to further human rights abuses.
